Apart from attending the meetings AFK, we appriciate our members contributions on this site, both in the forums and in the blogposts.

Anyone can be a member and particpate in ALT.NET Sweden / Copenhagen.

In the forums your are directly admitted to post topics and replies. You can even directly submit your first blogpost the minute you sign up as a member, though you will get full credentials to directly publish your posts first after you presented yourself in person in one of the communities meetings or events.

But do not worry, we will gladly publish your posts even before that, we just want to have a look at it first. :P

Come on in – join the fun!

We still have a lot of information we want to put up on this site, but as you all know: things take time, and so we want to present the most important bits of information that you might need in this post. And if you happen to be interested in helping out with the site, please see this thread (it’s in Oresundish).

How do I Join?
All you need to do to join Oresund Alt.Net is to join our Google group! We are not a closed organization, anyone can join and start contributing right away.

Where do I show up?
As mentioned in the previous post, the first meeting will be held on January 29th. We will meet in DotWay, which is located 5 minutes from the Malmö train station. Exact start time has not been decided yet, but it will be after work and in time for participants to come in from Copenhagen, i.e. early evening. More on this and directions will be posed later. The meeting will start with a short presentation about Oresund Alt.Net, and then Johan Lindfors will hold a presentation about some of the technologies presented at PDC ‘08. After Johan’s presentation we will have our very first open space session! If you have any topic suggestions, let your voice be heard here. If you have any questions regarding the meeting, you are always welcome to post it in the group.

We are planning for the next meeting to be held in Copenhagen in February, but we do not yet have an exact location for this. If your company could be interested in hosting such a meeting and your offices are easy to get to from the Malmö-Copenhagen train line, please let us know in this thread. We are planning on meeting alternately in Malmö and in Copenhagen, and we would like for the meetings to be hosted at the offices of different companies of the community members, so that the companies can get to know Oresund Alt.Net and the community members can get to know the companies that are interested in Alt.Net practices.

What language should I talk?
So far all communication regarding Oresund Alt.Net has been carried out in Swedish and Danish simultaneously, and we think it’s been going quite well (although, we could be wrong and just not realize it…), so we’ve decided to continue this way. The site is in English because we also want to reach out to like-minded people outside of Scandinavia, and although we don’t have much content now, we hope to get it sooner or later. If you go to the Google group you will notice that messages are written in both Swedish and Danish, but feel free to post in any language you think people will understand.

Any questions?
Ok, that’s all I can think of for now, but if you have any questions feel free to post them on the Google group.
